Name: Sarah Huelin
Traineeship title: Farm and Community Engagement Trainee
What were you doing before starting your traineeship?
Teaching
What appeals to you most about the CET?
Getting a broad spectrum of experience within the environmental sector.
What are you most looking forward to about your time at the CET?
Doing lots of practical work on the farm and learning as much about sustainable farming as I can!
Where is your favourite location in the British Countryside? What do you like about it?
Gosh, that is a tricky question! If I had to say one place it would probably be the view you get as you drive over Askers Hill in West Dorset, travelling in a westerly direction. As you come over the crest of the hill you are greeted with panoramic views of the countryside which go all the way across to the coast – it always makes my heart soar when I see it! It holds many precious memories for me as it was my stomping ground as a child and I had lots of adventures in the glorious countryside there.
What is your favourite farm animal?
Again, tricky! I would probably say a sheep, purely on the basis of being extremely cute.
Something people may find surprising about you is…
I have a fear of rodents – perhaps not ideal when working on a farm!
