Treehouse TriumphPosted on Friday 15 May 2009 The wonderful New Forest Treehouse Study Centre, the only treehouse study centre in the world, was opened by Alan Titchmarsh at the end of last September to great acclamation and has been ‘wowing’ visitors young and old since. The exciting, innovative and sustainably built buildings form the base for the bulk of the Trust’s day activities for schools and the community. They are also available for broader community use and hire, subject of course that use fitting in with the Trust’s aims and our Green Transport Policy On a sadder note I have to report that Graham Carter passed away on the 14th November 2008. Graham was the founding director of the CET, indeed he set up the charity way back in 1975. He was director for 25 years and it was perhaps poignant that he should leave us on the day of the CET Christmas Fair. We have named one of the new Treehouse classrooms in his memory; I think he would like that. David Bridges, Trust Director |
